Microsoft has announced the general availability of three new Office apps for the Android based smart phone, signalling its final step in completing the Office experience on Android devices. Word, Excel and PowerPoint have arrived in the Google Play app store for the Android smart phone., following on the heals of the Outlook, OneNote and OneDrive apps already available.
"The apps offer the same great touch-optimised Office experience currently available on Android tablets, but with a user interface (UI) thoughtfully redesigned for a smaller screen," Microsoft said in a press release.
"Just like Office for iOS and Android tablet, the core viewing, creating and editing experience is available for free. With an Office 365 subscription, users will be able to access subscription-only benefits such as more robust editing and authoring features; 1TB of OneDrive storage and 60 minutes of Skype unlimited worldwide calling per month."
